Upcoming Fall & Winter Schedule Now Available!

Enjoy the wonders of nature at Greenwell State Park through games, crafts, stories, movement, and exploration. Nature Time is a program for young children and their families/caregivers. Recreation, education, and conservation all play a part in the activities.

Nature Time meets weekly (monthly during late fall & winter) at 10:00am and lasts until approximately 11:30am.

Read about  Nature Time's Summer Beach Party in The Enterprise.

Rain or shine, Nature Time is meant to make the most of what the park has to offer.  Occasionally lessons may be altered or replaced to present a more relevant subject.  Weekly email reminders will keep those interested informed about what to expect each week.  If you are interested in receiving the weekly email reminder please provide your email address via the link below.

Pre-registration & Cancellation:
Pre-registration is required. Participants are welcome to pack their own picnic lunch and explore the park on their own after the program.

Register (no later than 24 hours in advance) by notifying the Nature Time coordinator, Lauretta Pranzo via email:
lpranzo@greenwellfoundation.org

Pre-registration allows Greenwell to plan each session and contact you in case of cancellation. Nature Time requires a minimum of five participants per session. If there are fewer than five participants the session will be canceled via email notification (the evening prior to the scheduled program).

If the weather conditions call for a two-hour delay within the public school system, Nature Time will be cancelled. Every effort will be made to provide notice of a cancellation the evening prior to a scheduled session; however, in the event of a school delay or illness, notice may not be until the day of the event.

If you do not have email access, you may contact the Greenwell Foundation office for updates. Participants should check in at the Nature Center (unless otherwise notified) and submit payment prior to 10:00am.  Exact change is preferred.

Cost:
$5 for adult and one child ($3 each additional child participating, not including babies). The program fee includes admission to the park on the day of participation.

Parking:
Free parking is provided across from the horse barn on the right side of Rosedale Manor Rd.

Accessibility:
All facilities are accessible to those with mobility challenges, including wheelchairs. This includes paths throughout the park.

Supervision:
Parents and caregivers must supervise their children at all times.

Clothing:
Please ensure that participants are prepared for weather conditions. Bare in mind that the park is often colder/hotter than one’s own back yard. Sunscreen is important on sunny days. Bottled water is also recommended, as is insect repellant. Programs may include exposure to horses, plants, mud, and water. Casual clothing that may get dirty with comfortable footgear is best. A change of clothing is recommended for small children.

Please be aware that the Greenwell Foundation occasionally takes photographs and videos of program participants. These photographs and videos may be used for promotional printed material, educational activities, website display, exhibitions, or for any other use for the benefit of the program.

If you do not wish to have your photograph used for these purposes, please submit written notice to the Greenwell Foundation. Thank you!
